Content & Licenses
Where the guided-session content comes from, and the licenses it ships under.
Back to today
Every guided meditation and breathing session in Clarum is original writing, authored from scratch against the standard structure of a well-established, public-domain technique. Breathing and meditation techniques are methods of operation and are not protected by copyright (17 U.S.C. §102(b); Baker v. Selden) — only a specific recording or fixed wording is. So the scripts, and the procedurally generated audio beds, are dedicated to the public domain.

Sources we deliberately did not use
Several widely-recommended “free” meditation libraries are not actually redistributable in an app, and we left them out on purpose:
- —UCLA MARC / UCLA Mindful — licensed CC BY-NC-ND (no commercial use, no derivatives).
- —Greater Good in Action (UC Berkeley) — terms restrict it to personal, non-commercial use.
- —Medito — the app code is open source, but its guided audio is proprietary.
Review status
English scripts are the reviewed source. Hindi scripts are a machine-assisted draft awaiting native clinical review, and are marked as such in the app.
